Genome expands with 4 more currencies – 11 total for your use! How to benefit from them?

In October 2024, Genome introduced Polish zloty (PLN), Swiss franc (CHF), Japanese yen (JPY), and Canadian dollar (CAD) as new currencies for your accounts and other services.

Then we thought – why stop there? And thus, later on, we introduced 4 more new currencies: Czech koruna (CZK), Hungarian forint (HUF), Swedish krona (SEK), and Australian dollar (AUD). This brings the total number of currencies in which you can open an account to 11, including our originals: euro (EUR), US dollar (USD), and British pound (GBP).

So, how can you use and benefit from all these currencies inside Genome? Let’s take it one step at a time!

Start multiple accounts in different currencies

Once your personal or business wallet gets approved, you get access to your first account, which is always in euros. However, you can start more accounts in different currencies (EUR, USD, GBP, PLN, CHF, JPY, CAD, CZK, HUF, SEK, or AUD) within seconds, straight from your dashboard!

You can have up to 5 accounts per currency listed! This allows you to store money in different currencies, top-up your euro accounts, and exchange money within your existing Genome accounts!

How to open an additional account inside your personal or business wallet:

  1. Open the Genome dashboard in your web browser;
  2. Click the Plus sign (+) next to the personal accounts/business accounts title in the left upper corner;
  3. Select one of the currencies you’d like to use and add the account;
  4. If you need to, open more accounts in other currencies right away!

Use new currencies for card payments

Some of the currencies that Genome has introduced recently can be used for card payments. These are PLN, CHF, CZK, HUF, and SEK, in addition to already existing EUR, USD, and GBP options. So, 8 in total.

Both physical and virtual Visa debit cards can be linked to such accounts, whether you use a personal or a business wallet!

How to link your card to a new currency:

  1. Ensure that you have opened an account in your preferred currency, available for cards (EUR, USD, GBP, PLN, CHF, CZK, HUF, or SEK);
  2. If you don’t have a card yet, make sure to order one – check a detailed tutorial on our cards;
  3. If you already have a card, open the Cards menu, select the card, and change the linked accounts to those you prefer.

Make business international transfers

Last but certainly not least, if you have a business wallet, you can use all 11 currencies to make international payments via the SWIFT network. Also, transfers where British pounds are involved can be rerouted via the Faster Payments or CHAPS system.

How to make an international/SWIFT transfer using different currencies:

  1. If you haven’t accessed the international transfer feature yet, make sure to check the list of supported countries and industries to see that your company is eligible;
  2. If you’re eligible, go to the Account details menu and select the SWIFT tab;
  3. Click the Get account details button to send your request;
  4. You will receive access to the account details within 1 business day after placing your request.
  5. Once you have the details, you can start sending international transfers;
  6. Log into your business wallet, go to the Transfers menu, or click the Send button on the dashboard;
  7. Choose the Bank transfer option;
  8. Select the account that has payment details for international payments linked to them;
  9. Enter the required beneficiary’s details and the amount you want to send.
