Meeting experts at E-commerce Berlin Expo 2026
February brought a major in-person moment: our team attended the E-commerce Berlin Expo on 17–18 February 2026 in Berlin, joining a large-scale e-commerce crowd and networking event.
With Genome’s merchant services recently unveiled, the expo was a timely and important moment! Our team had a valuable opportunity to hear what e-commerce teams actually need from payments and to discuss payment methods, checkout flows, and more.
Not only that, but we were also named a top 10 finalist in the Payments & Fintech category at the E-commerce Germany Awards.
We are always looking forward to feedback from merchants, especially as we are soon to release even more merchant services.

A comprehensive guide on card payment processing for merchants
Speaking of merchant services, Genome is soon to launch a card payment processing feature for merchants. Given this, we thought it would be helpful to refresh your knowledge of what card payment processing entails.
Our guide explores why merchant accounts exist and how the card payment processing cycle works. We also explained how the merchant fees work. Lastly, we covered security standards for card acquiring and how 3DS 2.0 supports stronger, often more seamless authentication.
Learn all about how Genome’s future card processing feature, in addition to already available instant bank payments, can take your payment acceptance capabilities to another level.
SEPA vs. SWIFT: Which transfers are better suited for Europe
If you’ve ever hesitated over which transfer option to use, SEPA or SWIFT, and are not sure why the UK feels different, we can help!
Our team broke down the main money transfer options in Europe, so you can avoid slow delivery times and unnecessary fees.
In short: for EUR transfers within Europe, SEPA (especially SEPA Instant) is usually the best option, as it’s built for fast, local payments using IBANs. And while SWIFT is sometimes essential for multi-currency transfers, it’s often the most expensive option for straightforward European transfers.
SaaS longevity: why multi-currency accounts and services matter to it
If you operate a SaaS business, you probably know that FX friction can drain revenue across holding balances, conversions, and day-to-day operating spend. To improve the situation, you can consider implementing a multi-currency infrastructure for your SaaS company. It means having capabilities to hold and exchange multiple currencies, use them for money transfers, have multi-currency cards, and even accept payments in different currencies. All this is achievable with Genome!
Our 12-currency setup (EUR, USD, GBP, PLN, CHF, JPY, CAD, CZK, HUF, SEK, AUD, DKK) allows SaaS teams to hold and exchange currencies between accounts. Businesses can pay in the right currencies using SWIFT transfers and link cards to specific currencies. And, once card payment processing is available, accept payments in EUR, USD, and GBP from Visa and Mastercard cards.

Online shopping safety: 3D Secure and common mistakes
Online shopping can and must be secure. And you can achieve that using our dedicated guide. Our team explained online shopping safety in a practical, non-technical way.
For one, we covered how 3D Secure (3DS) serves as an additional layer of protection for online card payments. We also explained real-world risks like unsafe public Wi-Fi and what a VPN can and can’t realistically protect.
Learn how to shop more confidently with Genome virtual and physical Visa cards, using in-app controls like instant blocking, spending limits, and transaction tracking.
